SmartCat S12 Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box

This is the first automated cat litter box I have ever purchased. I was always dreading buying all the extras you have to buy to use them. This box absolutely changed my life. I worried constantly about the stinky cat litter — no more of that! I bought my mom one I loved it so much.

We've bought four of these for our 8 cats and they work amazingly. I was very skeptical at first — automatic litter boxes just seemed failure-prone — but I was pleasantly surprised. I've had these all for several months with no issues.

After the cat does his business it automatically cleans once he leaves the box. It even levels the cat litter so it's perfect for next time. Works quickly and quietly, and includes bags to help with smell and cleaning. Feels solid and is a good size for my full grown cat.

I have a Maine Coon that's 16 lbs and he fits in there, and it only took 2 days for him to transition. It's super quiet and has made such a difference in smell — like I don't have a cat. It's much cheaper than a lot of auto litter boxes that do the same thing.

I have 2 cats, both American Shorthairs about 1 year old. They easily go 5–6 times a day so a manual scoop was NOT going to work with my work schedule — that was scooping twice a day minimum, and it attracted little flies. Since I've had this: no smell, no bugs, clean litter.

I previously returned one of the more expensive enclosed ones because it kept erroring. This is simple to set up and easy to operate. The replacement bags are inexpensive and easy to change. We have two cats that use the box constantly and we only need to change the bag every 6 days. I'd recommend this one over the more expensive ones with the app.

The spacious design is perfect for my cats, and it reduces odors. The safety sensors stop the cleaning process if a cat jumps in, so I never worry about accidents. The large waste bin means I only clean it about once a week, and it is extremely quiet. Setup is super easy.

Very happy with this — it replaced a much larger one that just quit cycling. I like the size of this one and I love the way it cycles. It's quiet. My largest cat is 14 lbs and it fits him fine with plenty of turnaround room. I also love the drawstring disposable bags.

Product is as described and it was very easy to assemble. I was told it would be delivered in about 5 days but it arrived in 2. So far it's working great — just have to get the cat acclimated to it.

Two cats used it quite quickly. My cat mentor advises against covered units, and this one is open. At this price it's easy to indulge in a product that makes my day a little easier.

Great so far. Way better than manually scooping, and slightly less messy.

Great litter box, but your cat may not adapt to it right away — patience is key, it may take weeks. At first let your cat use it unplugged, put treats around it, then activate automatic mode only after they get used to it. It is fairly quiet and the sensors work well.
